New Release! Silver Edge by Ciara Knight

Excerpt

My fingers settled on the piano keys, my hands arched, and my brain shifted to the slow, sensual sound of Drake’s song.
My eyelids closed, sealing the surrounding room from my consciousness. That inexplicable yearning inside me conjoined with the melody. I surrendered to the sensual soiree, the higher notes promenading with the grace of a champion ballroom dancer. My shoulders rose and fell with the tete-a-tete.
I played as if the piano breathed for me, thought for me, lived for me. Note after note, I felt love, loss, longing. Tears trickled over my cheeks and into my mouth. I tasted the sadness of Drake’s song, the same sadness I had lived.
I slid my hands to the bass keys and pounded the approach of danger. Deep, hollow, broken. I found where Drake had faltered in the song. My breath was shallow, but I played on. The melody crescendoed to a battle cadence.
Da-drum. Da-drum. Da-drum.
Faster, faster, faster.
The song peaked, a high, mountainous peak. Energy faded, and the beats trailed into a sweeping calm. My fingers fell from the keys. I slumped, exhausted.
The floor creaked and I jolted. Drake dropped his bag, a flash of intense emotion. I flinched, waiting for the anger I knew was coming to rule his fists.

About Silver Edge by Ciara Knight

SilverEdge_CiaraKnight_entangledpub_bookcoverAll I’ve ever wanted is to fit in.

But no one can ever see past how weird I am. Bright lights? Can’t stand them. Loud noises? Definitely sends me over the edge. And touching? Forget about it.

At least, until I met Drake.

From the moment I walked into that nightclub, I finally felt like I belonged somewhere. And when Drake touched me, it didn’t send me into a tailspin of sensations that I couldn’t stand. It actually felt…nice. Like something I could get used to. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s probably the hottest guy I’ve ever seen.

But now someone wants to close the club down. And since I promised Drake that I’d help him keep it open, I’m going to have to find a way to tap into whatever that inner strength thing is that everyone always talks about. And fast. But what happens if I can’t?

Excerpt Spotlight! The List by Tawna Fenske

Excerpt

“Okay, really quickly,” he says. “I’ve created a link to your new backup system right here. I updated your antivirus protection and did a thorough cleaning of the keyboard. You’ll want to watch out for this X key, though. It’s still a little sticky.”

I nod. “I’ll try not to type too many words with an X in them.” The second I say that, I think of half a dozen.

Excite.

X-rated.

Fixate.

Sex.

Climax.

He looks up at me then, and I could swear the same words just flitted through his mind. There’s a knowing expression in those brown eyes, and I’m positive he read the list. He had to, right?

Or maybe I imagined the look, because he’s back to pointing out some feature he updated on the laptop. Something about RAM or ROM or whatever. I can’t hear anything he’s saying over the voice in my head chanting, “Did he read it? Did he not read it?”

He turns and asks if what he just showed me makes sense, and I nod like a dummy. For all I know he just gave me a recipe for snickerdoodles or told me where Jimmy Hoffa is buried. I have no clue. He holds my gaze, and I try to blink away the panic.

I can’t take it anymore.

I have to defuse the tension or I’ll explode.

I finally blurt it out. “Look, Simon—I’m feeling a little flustered because I know you saw The List on my monitor when I dropped off the computer, and it’s really nice of you to pretend you didn’t see it, but obviously, you did, and I feel like I should explain that it’s probably not what you think it is.”

I drag in a deep breath to wash down that big mouthful of crazy. He looks up from the laptop then, a bemused expression in those light brown eyes. “What do I think it is?”

About The List by Tawna Fenske

thelist_tawnafenske_entangledscorchedAs the millionaire owner of a chain of computer shops, Simon Traxel isn’t normally hands-on with mundane repairs. But when a fretful brunette shows up with her fried laptop and killer green eyes, he makes an exception. And as it turns out, she needs more hands-on help than Simon imagined.

Brainy soil scientist Cassie Michaels has spent her whole life feeling like a grungy tree trunk beside her delicate flower sisters. To make herself more interesting, Cassie invented stories about her wild sex life—stories she’s expected to retell in vivid detail at a bachelorette party. Cassie’s attempt to catalog her biggest whoppers goes awry when she spills wine on her laptop and lands in Simon’s shop with her sexy list frozen on the screen.

But Simon’s interest is piqued, and the two strike a deal to make Cassie’s make-believe sexploits a reality. From steamy public romps gone hilariously awry, to sexy antics with kitchen utensils, their quest to conquer The List is equal parts scorching hot and adorably awkward.

As they near the end of The List though, Cassie and Simon second guess their pledge to shake hands and say goodbye when they cross off the last item. But will Simon’s big secret make that the one fantasy that can never come true?

You Down With OTP? Yeah, You Know Me! Guest Post by Author Gina L. Maxwell!

Today’s feature post is part of the Ruthless virtual blog tour. Ruthless by Gina L. Maxwell is the newest book release in the Playboys In Love series.

ruthless_ginalmaxwell_inkslingerbanner2

Guest Post by Gina L. Maxwell – You down with OTP? Yeah, you know me!

Anyone who grew up in the 90’s will recognize that line as a Naughty By Nature rap song, except it was technically called O.P.P., of which the definition is an entirely different topic that we won’t get into right now.

This post is about OTPs, or for the pop-culture impaired, One True Pairing. It’s the fictional couple—or people, if they’re not yet a couple—you most want/love to be together in any given show. The act of wanting them to be together is called shipping, which derives from the word relationship. For example, I ship Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak from the CW Network television show, Arrow. From the very beginning, I wanted Oliver and Felicity to get together and be a couple, so I shipped them. Got it? And because I love them the most of any couples (or possible couples) on that show, they are my OTP. And just to add more confusion to the made-up-words mess, when you ship a couple, you combine their names into one. So my OTP’s name is Olicity. Isn’t that adorable?

Anyway, I absolutely love Olicity. He’s strong and moral and loyal and she’s awkward and quirky and smart. They’re absolutely amazing together, and they had probably the most perfect first kiss I’ve ever seen in a TV show or movie. I couldn’t find GIF long enough to show the whole thing, so I found several that pieces it together for you.

1: http://giphy.com/gifs/7gvP5cmHpG3vi/html5
2: http://giphy.com/gifs/xfhTh1cAz7GCI/html5
3: http://giphy.com/gifs/xLo1qtDpRjPGM/html5
4: http://giphy.com/gifs/fhxoOJIkeaau4/html5

Incidentally, that first kiss pretty much sums up their entire relationship on the show throughout all of the seasons so far. It’s so frustrating when the writers of a show mess with your OTP, but I don’t want to talk about it because the whole thing makes me super stabby. If there’s a God, they’ll fix what they broke before they have mutiny on their hands from the entire fandom.

The heroine in my upcoming release, Ruthless, is Addison Paige. She’s a self-proclaimed honey badger, tough and willing to fight for what she believes in and what she wants—including one man in particular, Roman “Ruthless” Reeves. If she had a favorite OTP, I think it would be Ragnar and Lagertha from the show Vikings.

http://giphy.com/gifs/fsP17cWG5LPWg/html5

There are so many similarities to be drawn between the two couples. They’re playful with each other, even when arguing, and their banter is witty and fun thanks to Addison’s snark.

http://giphy.com/gifs/vr1FzOTf84O40/html5

Addison is every bit as strong and confident as Roman and isn’t afraid to let him know it or push back on him when he needs the reminder. They leave the shields and swords out of it, thankfully.

About Ruthless by Gina L. Maxwell

ruthless_ginalmaxwellPeople call me Ruthless for a reason.

Whether I’m in the court room or in the bedroom, my reputation is well-earned. I’m either working hard, working out, or working my way into some woman’s panties. But none of them share my particular kink, and I walk away feeling unsatisfied.
Until I met her.

She’s a friend of a friend, which makes her off-limits in my book. But then temptation had me by the balls and I had her up against a wall. She literally fucked my world off its axis, but it can’t happen again.

My plan was avoidance, but that got blown to shit when my firm hired her as a new junior attorney. Now I’m her boss, and I’m supposed to act like I don’t want to bend her over my desk every five minutes.

But I’ve never held myself back with anything before, so consequences be damned. It’s time to take what I want and show her how damn good it feels…to be ruthless.

New Release! Fake Engagement, Real Temptation by Joya Ryan

Excerpt

Carrie.

He hustled her direction, and it wasn’t until he got closer that he saw the massive pink suitcase she was fighting with was broken, and the fuzz in question was coming from her—as in the bottom piece of her dress, and she was next in line to drop off her bag.

“Jesus Christ,” he said, walking up to her. She looked up from the fight with her bag, blew a lock of hair out of her face, and scowled.

“What the hell are you doing here?” she asked. There was that sass. He’d take attitude over her tears any day.

“I could ask you the same thing,” he said.

She pointed at her suitcase. “Well, you’re the genius with the idea to go on my honeymoon alone, and since my arms get tired when I flap them longer than ten minutes, I have to take an airplane to Hawaii.”

He raised a brow, his blood igniting in that way that only Carrie could make it. That snarky tone made him want to spar with her. But he knew her well enough to know she was still hiding pain beneath the brazen attitude.

“I’m glad to see you found your sassy pants,” he said. “Maybe they’ll keep you warm under that dress.”

She rolled her eyes and Blake continued.
“I’m glad you’re going and I’m glad you’re having your adventure. But I was serious about needing a—”

“Spotter?” she cut in, using his term from earlier.

“Yes. Carrie, you going alone isn’t an option.”

“Well I’m a grown up and I’m not taking my brother. That’s weird and, oh right, I’m. A. Grown up!” she said slowly, like he was an idiot.

“Lane can’t make it,” he said frankly and watched her eyes go wide, the truth hitting her.

“Lane sent you,” she said with venom in her voice. “How did he even know I was here?”

“He didn’t, I did,” Blake corrected quickly. “After our talk and realizing you wouldn’t wait, I tracked you down here.”

“Oh right, the infamous tracker,” she said, and Blake wished she sounded more impressed. Not sure why that mattered. Maybe he could contemplate that if he wasn’t too busy staring down plump, tan skin, currently heaving out of the top of her dress.

My god she looked incredible.

But Carrie was clearly in a mood, and he couldn’t blame her. Last thing he should be doing is checking her out. Which he wasn’t. Because not only was she just left at the altar, but she was his best friends little sister. No way in hell was he thinking of her in any other way other than a lady to be protected.

Truth be told, he thought she’d be a crying mess of sad clown makeup but instead, she was huffing from the suitcase, making the tight, low cut of her dress dip even more, giving him yet another prime view of the most perfect cleavage he’d ever seen.

Kevin was an idiot to not show up for a woman like her.

Stop thinking that way, she’s your buddy’s sister.

“Well you found me,” she said exasperated. “So you can report back that I’m fine. Bye.”

“Sorry, little girl, can’t do that.”

About Fake Engagement, Real Temptation by Joya Ryan

fakeengagementrealtemptation_JoyaryanOh. My. God. Carrie Morgan can’t escape her cheating ex fiancé. She goes on her Hawaiian honeymoon fantasy vacation to prove she’s over him—but he’s there with his mistress in tow. Good thing Carrie’s annoyingly over-protective friend Blake came with her. How’s she going to prove to her ex she’s over him? Easy. One… Two… Three… She grabs Blake and kisses him.

Blake Harris isn’t about to let anyone take advantage of his heartbroken friend Carrie. And that includes himself, even if she’s sexy as sin in that bikini. Then she kisses him—and he’s on fire. Damage done, but he can back off. Except he sees that broken look in Carrie’s eyes. No. Hell no. New plan. He intends to show her ex just what he’s thrown away.

The kisses? For show. The heat? Part of the performance. The private practice sessions? Uh-oh. Those are starting to feel a bit too real…
