Excerpt – Too Wild To Tame by Tessa Bailey

The security guard at the rear entrance came into view, his familiar hawk eyes zeroing in on Grace. Then Aaron. Exasperation moved over the guard’s features before he hid it by adjusting his earpiece. Activity swarmed on the front side of the building, the media, the shouted questions, the general scrape and hum of movement audible, even where they walked along the backside of the school.

Knowing once they were inside, she wouldn’t see Aaron again, Grace smiled up at him, noticing he didn’t look quite as confident as he had a moment before. “It was nice meeting you,” she whispered. “Thanks for not ratting me out.”

“I…” He smoothed a hand down the front of his ruby-colored tie. “I won’t see you…around again?”

Grace’s hands itched with the urge to burrow into her hair, latch on to the braids she’d completed this morning while waiting for Aaron to show. “Probably not. Why would you?”

Why was he frowning at her? She couldn’t ask him why, since they were within earshot of the guard and the walk had ended way too soon. With a final memorization of his furrowed brow, she transferred her focus. “Hey, Marcus.”

“Grace.” Marcus dipped his chin at Aaron. “Who’s this?”

Her neck grew stiff. “This is my handler for today. He’s new.”

Marcus split a look between her and Aaron, before consulting his clipboard. “No one ran a change in staff by me.”

Grace could feel Aaron’s sharp scrutiny and ignored it, attempting to breeze past Marcus with a casual smile. “I understand. I’ll just go grab my dad, so he can clear it up—”

“No. That’s okay.” As predicted, a harried Marcus blocked her path. “Your father is busy. Just…” He gave Aaron another once-over, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper between men, as if Grace couldn’t hear every word. “You know the approved areas? Be sure to keep her within them.”

“Yes.” She was impressed when Aaron gave a brisk nod. “Will do.”

Aaron took her elbow and moved them into the back hallway, past the kitchen, where the local Boy Scouts were rushing to mix pancakes and pour them on the oversized, industrial griddle. Once they turned a corner and Marcus was no longer in view, Grace reluctantly tugged her elbow out of Aaron’s grip, rubbing the spot to keep the warmth alive awhile longer. “This is where we part ways.”
Aaron’s way too handsome face was the picture of bafflement. “Who are you, hippie?” The low, intense vibration of his voice made her shiver. “Why do you need a handler?”

She reached back and curled her fingers around the metal staircase handle. The one she knew was there—and where it led—thanks to last night’s expedition. Her intent was to slip away without answering, but after ignoring so many compulsions that morning already, she couldn’t deny the final one.

With a thready apology, Grace shot forward and up, locking her mouth with Aaron’s, memorizing the way his stiffness melted in one big deluge. The way he gave a rough exhale through his nose. That gruff sound that drummed from his throat, a split second before his lips opened, tongue teasing in to taste hers. Just some. The most perfect, slick greeting. The two of them hung there, mouths open, lips wet and fitted together, breath racing, kitchen clamoring behind them.

Two ends of a silk rope pulled taut beneath her belly button, a tempting lick of his tongue clenching muscles she’d never acquainted herself with, nor could she point them out on a diagram. Whoa Nelly. And with her heart slamming against her ribs like a wrecking ball, Grace cut out that snippet of time—so shimmering and unmarred—tucked it into her pocket, and stole down the staircase, wondering how long the memory of Aaron’s kiss would stay with her. Praying the answer was forever.

About Too Wild To Tame by Tessa Bailey

Sometimes you just can’t resist playing with fire…

By day, Aaron Clarkson suits up, shakes hands, and acts the perfect gentleman. TooWildToTame_TessaBailey_ForeverBut at night, behind bedroom doors, the tie comes off and the real Aaron comes out to play. Mixing business with pleasure got him fired, so Aaron knows that if he wants to work for the country’s most powerful senator, he’ll have to keep his eye on the prize. That’s easier said than done when he meets the senator’s daughter, who’s wild, gorgeous, and 100 percent trouble.

Grace Pendleton is the black sheep of her conservative family. Yet while Aaron’s presence reminds her of a past she’d rather forget, something in his eyes keeps drawing her in. Maybe it’s the way his voice turns her molten. Or maybe it’s because deep down inside, the ultra-smooth, polished Aaron Clarkson might be more than even Grace can handle…

About The Author

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-tessabaileycountry to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Book Review

I am laughing out loud just writing this review, remembering the various chapters that kept me giggling and witty lines that brought out the smiles 😀 . And that’s not even the best part. The story as a whole was full of depth, believability and what felt like genuine characters. Their pain, challenges and triumphs pulling at the heartstrings and emotions of this reader. Rita’s character was written with flawless magnificence. Her character, while often vulnerable, still held much strength, and was written with credibility. Jasper was an absolute swoonfest, loveable, “can I have one too, if only” character that absolutely just jumped from the pages for this reader. His big heart and caring, focussed character was entertaining and superbly portrayed. Both characters shined in a story I couldn’t get enough of. Such emotion packed reading that made for a read not to be missed. Not to forget Rosemary – what a hoot of a character lol 🙂 There wasn’t anything about this book I didn’t like. Rita’s siblings – Belmont. BELMONT – OMG his character had me speechless in all the right ways – intense (ahem, Ms Bailey #PMB ring any bells lol) and Sage’s introduction in Belmont’s circle will make for a great, cannot wait, read. Aaron – bahahahaha rightious, funny, sarcastic and pristine to boot, and Peggy lmbo – sweet, sassy and a whole lot of smooth – all of their characters have their own tale to tell and if it’s anything like how they grabbed this readers attention in Too Hot To Handle, with their funny multi-liners and smouldering smexiness that burnt the pages on every page turn, then I can not wait to read each of their stories. I cannot say enough how much I truly enjoyed reading this story and the characters within. All of it just blissful reading 😀

About Too Hot To Handle by Tessa Bailey

When rescue looks like a whole lot of trouble . . .

The road trip was definitely a bad idea. Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he’s about to be sorely tempted. There’s something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn’t just for tonight—he’s forever.

Excerpt – Too Hot To Handle by Tessa Bailey

“Believe this, Rita. I think you’re gorgeous as sin and I need your mouth on mine.”

Rita nodded, meshing their wet lips together in the process. “I want to believe that. You might have to help me.”

“Thank Christ.”

Their mouths slanted and somehow—somehow—that feast of lips and tongue and teeth was even more potent than the night before. His knee rammed into the bike—almost as if his leg had tried to buckle—shooting pain up his right thigh, but it vanished under the pleasure.

Vanished into vapor. The stroking, hot, abandon of Rita. They were both breathing through their noses so as not to break the voracious mouth-fucking they were engaging in, and that shouldn’t have been so all-out sexy. But it sure as shit was. They were attacking each other with seeking tongues and open lips, playing chicken to see who would give in first.

When her hands slipped under his shirt and pulled down on his belt buckle, putting pressure on Jasper’s cock, he cursed into her mouth, securing his fist in her hair like a goddamn barbarian. And she liked it, too. Why else would she be tugging on his belt, encouraging him to rock into the notch of her pussy? Too far. This was going too far. Any farther and they’d end up somewhere naked.

She’d leave the encounter with no doubt of his experience, because, hell, Jasper knew every button to press, when to change rhythm, when to be forceful or pull back. Knew it all. But Rita wouldn’t look at him the same way afterward. She’d see the local tramp, like everyone else.

She’d leave. And he’d have failed in his one attempt to be more to someone.

Jasper tore his mouth free, releasing a gruff exhale into her neck. “You have me ready to bust in my jeans, beautiful. I was smoother than this in high school.”

“That’s a scary thought,” she breathed out in a rush, her fists still curling in his shirt.

“Was that the other half of your apology for last night? B-because I have to say, it was pretty effective.”

“At the risk of sounding arrogant, Rita, I haven’t even moved my hips yet. You’ve barely gotten a preview of how thoroughly I can…apologize.”

BOOK REVIEW

Memorable moments in a story that did not slow down from start to finish. The crazy, intense storyline between the O’Malleys/Halloran//Sheridan triangle intensified with enough tension that crackled throughout the story.
A good addition to The O’Malley’s series.

Book Review

Jill Shalvis is my all time go-to Author for books that get you out of a reading funk and Second Chance At Summer just cements that theory. Laugh out loud, hotness personified, emotional and sizzling beyond all get out – has the first book of the Cedar Ridge series not disappointing this reader one bit!

Lily fled Cedar Ridge ten years ago in a wealth of heartache and emotions. Back to rebuild her life as best she can, she sets her sights on the one place and the one person whom she never thought she’d see again – with eye opening results.

Enter Aidan Kincaid – sizzling firefighter who gets more than a few readers hot under the collar.
Aidan and Lily have history. Lots of history and their encounters in Second Chance Summer are nothing short of breathtakingly brilliant and extraordinarily written.

Lily and Aidan’s emotions and heartfelt scenes have you wanting to wrap your arms around their characters and give them a big bear hug. These two characters jump from the pages and wrangle our emotions in a read that is just enchanting and mesmerising – have you laughing one minute and in gut wrenching twists the next.

Many secondary characters all add their importance to the story and all of them gel together well. Their laugh-out-loud escapades highlight the story and so many one and multiple liners that just keep us readers entertained throughout.

Jill Shalvis’ imaginative writing depicts each of the characters actions and emotions with ease and has the gift of creating characters and stories that readers can just thoroughly enjoy. A fantastically, brilliant read packed with many highlights, emotions and smexy encounters that have readers completely focussed to the book and drooling from one page to the next. A superb start to the Cedar Ridge series.
